Reflections and Ambitions

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

As the New Year approaches I’ve started to think about what I might like to do in 2019. 2018 has seen me start up my business under the name of Morning Coffee With Abba Ltd, with trading names Hannah Kirk Artist and Hannah Kirk Photography. It’s been equally exciting as nerve-wrecking. So far I have had 4 stalls and even managed to make a couple of online sales too. That has in itself been somewhat remarkable.

I’ve also done my first ever product photo shoot!

I never imagined that I’d start doing, for a living, what I enjoy most: photography, art, and writing.

Next year is looking exciting for all three of my business ventures. But, let’s focus (no pun intended!) on photography.

Ambition, at least to me, can sound like greed. But, I’m more interested in blessing others through my gift of photography. Of course, there is an element of making money, but I’m not greedy – I’d just like enough to live on. Nevertheless, there are a few things I’d like to achieve in 2019.

Firstly, I’d like to practice different types of shot and capture more types of wildlife. As I do so I’d like to learn how to make the most of my current camera and its wealth of settings.

Secondly, I’d like to expand my portfolio. I’d like to perhaps try out portrait photography, pet photography, and expand my portfolio of product photography. This might be a bit ambitious, but I intend to at least start in 2019.

Lastly, I’d like to have fun with my photography. I’d like to try to take at least one photograph a day; even if it’s a silly selfie on my phone, or a leaf. After all, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect.

What plans do you have for 2019? What would you like to learn or practice?

Blessings for the end of 2018 and I wish you a Happy New Year – for when we welcome it in in a few days.
